Our products are also suitable for anglers in New Zealand with product available to be shipped across the ditch.

I started fishing at 5 years old, as a young boy on the south coast of NSW and anywhere we travelled fishing soon became my #1 interest.  My Grandfather bought me my first rod and reel, an all Diawa set up and I thought it was the bee’s knees in the 1968, 1969 era.

We moved to Victoria and over many years fished the high country and alpine regions extensively for trout with my Dad. I was a member of the Yarra Valley Fly Fishers Victoria and we tied many flies, made fly rods and entered fly casting competitions using what we made ourselves.  After having my kids, I moved my family to Qld and my sons and I often entered fishing tournaments – we even managed to win on occasions!  Sharing this with my sons was a great experience.

I have spent many days on dams and impoundments chasing Bass, Barra, Golden Perch and Saratoga and in between fishing for bread and butter saltwater estuary species, learning all the time about the environment that fish live in, and the food sources that they live on and need for survival in their native habitats.

Trapping fish and studying them, learning what actually lives in our dams, rivers and lake impoundments systems throughout my fishing life has drawn me to the philosophy of match the hatch – to use Lures that, like flies, match the environment native fish inhabit, as closely as possible.

Aussie Native Lures evolved from this idea and today we develop and deliver lures that meet the philosophy of match the hatch for a range of Australian native fish.

Aussie Native Lures aim to improve fishing outcomes by relating to fish habits of territorial (reactive) strikes and feeding strikes and by capturing both survival mechanisms using lures that are identified as a food source.  We have created a fishing system that includes a range of accessories which complement our lure products and aims to improve your fishing outcomes. 

Aussie Native Lures are expertly hand-made and painted with no detail too small and come in a range of colours to suit the native fish you are fishing for. We bring our Lures to life such as our jigheads with quality 3D eyes throughout our range.

Fishing is a way of life for us, with my wife being involved in all the processes. We love our fishing trips and especially enjoy our lure trial trips which we have done through NSW in places such as Windamere Dam Mudgee or wherever they take us.
